Operations
The wind farm will be managed in accordance with the Operational Environmental Management Plan, which was approved by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE). The plan details key maintenance activities and outlines procedures for monitoring noise, impacts on flora and fauna and minimising fire risk.
The Operation Noise Management Plan was also approved by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE). The plan’s overall objective is to define how the owners and operators of the Collector Wind Farm will meet its commitments and obligations under the Project Approval to achieve, demonstrate and maintain compliance with the operational noise criteria specified in the Project Approval. Noise monitoring commenced mid June 2021 and the first Collector Wind Farm Post-Construction Noise Assessment was submitted to the Department on the 25th February 2022. The report was accepted by the Department on 1 March 2022.
One of our main priorities is protecting the local flora and fauna around the Collector Wind Farm. In order to protect the bird and bat population in the area to the best of our abilities we have developed a Bird and Bat Adataptive Management Plan (BBAMP). This approach has been approved by the DPIE.
The Pollution Incident Response Management Plan informs the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) about what controls we have in place to prevent pollution incidents on the Collector Wind Farm site. If you see any pollution on the wind farm site please call us immediately on 1800 280 013 or email enquiries@ratchaustralia.com
Bushfire risk management is governed and provisioned by associated legislation, regulation and guidelines as well as the committed mitigation measures and relevant State conditions of approval. The Bushfire Management Plan is reviewed annually and updated. It describes how bushfire risk is managed throughout the operations and management of the Collector Wind Farm.
The wind farm will be decommissioned in accordance with the Collector Wind Farm – Decommissioning and Rehabilitation Plan, which was approved by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI).
