About the project

Located in South Gippsland region, Toora Wind Farm’s 12 turbines generate 21MW – enough power for 6,000 homes a year.

The farm's location on a ridge overlooking Toora also provides scenic views of the surrounding countryside, which it shares with dairy and cattle herds since operations began in 2002.

Over a million tourists visit picturesque village of Toora each year, with the wind farm providing a unique visitor experience via its observation area. The public viewing deck also contains educational boards explaining the wind turbine operation.

Toora Wind Farm’s turbines are located on a mix of private and public land, and the farm is connected to the national power grid via a substation
