Community groups benefit from Mount Emerald Fund

Nine community groups in Far North Queensland have secured grants in the first round of funding in 2025 from the Mount Emerald Wind Farm Community Fund.

Successful applicants were:

  • Rotary Club of Atherton
  • Yungaburra State School P&C
  • Atherton Rifle Club Inc.
  • Malanda Judo Club
  • Atherton Men's Shed
  • Malanda Bowls Club Inc.
  • Atherton-Herberton Historic Railway Inc
  • Mareeba United Football Club
  • Malanda State School P&C Association

We are very grateful to the panel of local residents who sift through all the applications and make the difficult decisions about which projects to support.

RATCH Australia will donate $200,000 (index-linked) every year towards the Mount Emerald Wind Farm Community Fund.

We look forward to hearing more interesting ideas for how this money could be spent in the second round. Applications are accepted at any time, with Round 2 applications to close on 31 July 2025. For any applications that are received after 31 July 2025, those applications will be taken into consideration for the first round in 2026.

Further details, including guidance for applicants and an application form are available at the project website.
