Location: Southern Tablelands, NSW
Status: Planning Approval
Network: Essential_Energy
152MW
Solar Capacity81MW
Battery Capacity~ 300
Jobs during peak constructionThe approved Marulan Solar Farm would have a generation capacity of 152 MWac, with an associated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of 81 MW capacity, 4 hours of storage ( 81 MW / 324 MWh).
When operational, it is expected to generate enough clean renewable energy to power the equivalent of approximately 56,000 average NSW homes.
The project was approved by the NSW Department of Planning & Environment in 2023. You can view the approval at https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/major-projects/projects/marulan-solar-farm
