About the project

The Lincoln Gap Wind Farm complex near Port Augusta will ultimately consist of 468 MW of wind turbines.

Lincoln Gap Wind Farms 1 & 2 currently comprise a total of 212 MW of fully operational wind turbines. Stage 1 (126 MW) was completed in May 2021, and Stage 2 (86 MW) was completed in March 2022. The project also includes a 10 MW grid-scale battery storage system.

Lincoln Gap Wind Farm Stage 3 Development

The 278 MW Lincoln Gap Wind Farm Stage 3 and its associated 120 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) are currently under development. Located adjacent to the existing Lincoln Gap 1 & 2 Wind Farms and within the same land lease, Stage 3 will add 42 wind turbines and expand the total project capacity by 278 MW.

The project received development approval in 2021 and also includes a separate 130 MW BESS component.
