Wind farm open day draws a crowd at Mount Emerald

Hundreds of local people climbed onto buses for a tour of the spectacular Mount Emerald Wind Farm on Saturday.

The wind farm’s second community open day was organised to enable the people who previously missed a spot due to the tour’s popularity in August.

Tickets were quickly snapped up for this event too, with around 600 people taking the chance to see some of the turbines up close and enjoy the stunning scenery.

We were again fortunate to have the Walkamin School P&C on hand to provide cool drinks and hot food to sustain our guests and raise funds for the school.

Based on the positive feedback from the two open days this year – and because we enjoy them too – we plan to make the open days an annual event.
