As a leader in sustainable energy development in Australia, RATCH-Australia understands that our long-term success goes hand-in-hand with enhancing the broader well being of the communities and regions in which we operate.

When RATCH-Australia began operating the Mount Emerald Wind Farm in 2019, it created a Community Benefit Fund designed to share the financial benefits of the wind farm with not-for-profit groups, associations, clubs or individuals located within a 40km radius of Windy Hill Wind Farm or 50km of Mount Emerald Wind Farm. 

RATCH-Australia donates over $200,000 every year of the wind farm’s working life into a fund to support local projects and initiatives. The contribution is adjusted for inflation using the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to ensure a meaningful sum is available to support good local causes for as long as the wind farm is generating clean energy.

There are two rounds of grants each year. The deadlines for applications to be considered in each round of funding are 31 January and 31 July.
