About the project

The Toora Wind Farm is a wind power station located in the South Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia. The wind farm is located on a ridge to the north-east of Toora and includes a viewing deck with boards giving information about how the turbines operate, as well as affording views of the spectacular surrounding scenery. The farm has a total capacity of 21 MW, consisting of 12 turbines that are capable of generating up to 1.75 MW each. The turbines are located on a mix of private and public land, and the farm is connected to the national power grid via a substation. The Toora Wind Farm began operations in 2002 and has been supplying clean, renewable energy to the region ever since.

The 12 turbines making up the Toora Wind Farm share land in southern Victoria with dairy and cattle herds. Farming activity continues undisturbed while the turbines generate safe, clean renewable electricity.
