Collector Wind Farm

Community Benefit Funds

RATCH-Australia has a long tradition of investing in the communities where we operate. At Collector, we have agreed to invest more than $270,000 per annum into community projects for the lifespan of the project. These funds are allocated through two Trusts, the and the Collector Community Trust and the Collector Wind Farm s355 Fund which is managed by the Upper Lachlan Shire Council and community representatives. The Collector Community Trust is managed by an advisory committee comprising local residents able to inform us on what projects are important to the Collector community and which programs will have the most impact.

Applications for grants are open to any community group that is operating within a 10km radius of the wind farm. Applications for the Community Trust are open in February and August each year. The s355 Collector Community Fund is open for applications in April each year.

Community Consultative Commitee

The Collector Wind Farm Community Consultative Committee (CCC) helps information about the project to flow both ways between RATCH-Australia and local residents.

The Community Consultative Committee meets regularly, providing a forum for RATCH-Australia to give up-to-date project information, seek community feedback and better understand community concerns, as well as answer questions.

Membership comprises an independent chairperson, a representative from Upper Lachlan Shire Council, local residents and RATCH-Australia staff. This is consistent with the NSW Government guidelines.

The CCC has been particularly heavily involved in driving and negotiating the framework for the administration of the community funds that flow from the wind farm project.

The CCC was formed in 2012. To coincide with the start of construction work, the membership of the CCC was refreshed, with members of the community invited to express an interest in taking part.

The community representatives on the CCC are John Hoskins, Brian Mor, Ed Geishofer, Dean Horne, Andrew Chiswell and Terry Lovelock. Mayor Pam Kensit represents Upper Lachlan Shire Council and Margaret Harvie was appointed by the NSW Government to chair the committee. RATCH-Australia committee representatives are Melinda Loew and Paison Sutjarit.
