First turbines installed at Collector Wind Farm

Another important milestone has been achieved at Collector Wind Farm, with the installation of the first of 54 turbines.

Each Vestas V-117 turbine consists of three tower sections, three 57m long blades, a hub to connect the blades to the tower and a nacelle, which houses the generator.

Three cranes are in use across the site to hoist components into place. Weather permitting, our construction team plans to erect two complete turbines per week.

The wind farm is on course to be fully operational and generating a significant quantity of safe, clean, reliable electricity in early 2021.

More information is available at the project website.
