Collector Wind Farm delivers first clean energy

Collector Wind Farm today successfully delivered its first energy into the local transmission network.

This initial generation of safe, reliable, renewable electricity follows the connection of the new substation to TransGrid’s 330kv line, which runs through the site.

Now that turbine blades are turning at the wind farm, testing will continue for the rest of 2020, with the 54 turbines expected to be fully operational in early 2021.

Once commissioning is complete, the 226.8MW wind farm is forecast to generate enough clean power to meet the needs of more than 75,000 Australian homes every year.
