Beginning of operationsSetting benchmarks at the time, RAC provides more than $270,000 each year of operation to two community benefit funds supporting the well-being and resilience of the ~375 village residents.
Since operations began in 2021, Collector Wind Farm is estimated to save about 320,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The average generation of 528GWh capacity per year is equivalent to powering roughly 80,000 NSW households.
The site spans around 6,200 hectares of which, just 75-100 hectares were disturbed during the two-year construction and operations.
During construction 150 jobs were created with contracts going to local suppliers where possible. Since completion of the wind farm, 14 full time operational and maintenance roles have been created as a shared regional resource to manage the maintenance and operations of the site and other nearby wind farms.
The Collector Wind Farm can be viewed from the Hume Highway, however is not open to the public without a pre-arranged appointment.
